Numberle · strategies

Digits, not words.

With only 10 possible symbols per slot (vs 26 for Wordle), Numberle is faster to narrow — but duplicates are common and tricky.

01

Cover the range

Your first guess should use 5 different digits spanning the full 0-9 range. A guess like 13579 or 20486 immediately classifies half the digit pool.

13579
A range-spanning opener like 13579: green = right digit & spot, yellow = right digit wrong spot, gray = absent — one guess classifies half the pool.
02

Duplicates are legal

Unlike some number puzzles, the target CAN repeat digits (e.g. 33147). If you get a yellow for 3, it might appear more than once — test for doubles early once you have a hit.

03

Positional lock-in

A green digit is fixed — build around it. Shift yellows to untried positions. With 5 slots and 10 symbols, two greens usually leave very few valid numbers.

04

In 1v1

Speed matters. Memorize a fixed opener (e.g. always start with 13579) so you never spend time on guess 1 — your real thinking starts at guess 2.
